5 Technologies You Should Consider Integrating Into Your Company | Extraordinary Business

technologies
Technology continues to touch our lives in more ways than ever before. This also rings true for the enterprise space. Companies are increasingly becoming only as good as the technology used within it, no matter how it is integrated. Let’s take a closer look at 5 technologies that you should consider integrating into your company.

1.    Wireless Conferencing

All respectable companies have multiple meeting spaces. From discussing strategy to comparing notes, this is where teams can be brought together for an increasing number of important business tasks. Cables and connectors are, or at least should be, a thing of the past.
Apple’s Airplay or Google’s Chromecast can prove to be useful to some extent, but big companies need more robust solutions. Consider adopting a wireless solution that will connect employees to each other, to clients and to consumers. Kramer’s VIA line of solutions is a good example. You can use VIA to stream video and presentations wirelessly to multiple conference rooms. Participants can easily control/share a screen, whether they’re running Mac or PC, iPhone or Android.

2.    The Internet of Things (IoT)

Just because the Internet of Things started around things like smart lights and thermostats, doesn’t mean the enterprise applications should be ignored. According to Gartner, the enterprise might be among the largest markets for IoT devices. Manufacturers are already capitalizing on the utility of connected sensors and cameras for monitoring productivity and efficiency.
IoT isn’t meant to just empower things, but to empower people. Take data entry for instance. With IoT taking a larger role in the workplace, manual entry will be essentially rendered unnecessary. Employees can then spend more time using the data than simply creating it. Beyond this, connected devices will continue to accelerate employee mobility, making them a lot more productive and efficient regardless of their location.

3.    Augmented Reality

It’s interesting to see how augmented reality is affecting the reality. For businesses, the impact is great and continue to grow. For instance, entrepreneur and author, Adam Fridman, notes that virtual reality will play crucial roles in marketing. When Microsoft revealed its HoloLens glasses, it put many questions about augmented reality’s future to rest. The tech giant followed up the glasses with an AR headset that was made available to developers soon after.
Granted, the technology has still a long way to go. Still, it’s clear that Microsoft set its sights on enterprise customers. This should be good reason for smart business leaders to sit up and take notice of augmented reality and how it can be applied to their company.
A powerful way to implement AR in your company is showcasing designs and remote collaboration. The “show, don’t tell” adage rings quite true in the business world as well. Using augmented reality allows you to work with 3D data without incurring the cost of creating or launching.

4.    Wearables

wearable

At first glance, wearable devices are a “pure consumer” thing. Think about the smartwatches and fitness trackers and you see consumers running around or going about their day wearing their device. However, there are two main areas of interest for the enterprise: health and smartwatch space. In fact, veteran of digital marketing and Salesforce Voice Contributor, Stuart Leung, had written about how wearable technology will continue to change businesses.
Since much of the wearable space focuses on health & fitness tracking, you can turn this focus on your employees. Encourage them to adopt a healthier and more active lifestyle. Successful companies don’t need to be schooled on the importance of a healthy workforce. This makes wearables an important technology that you should consider integrating into your company.

5.    3D Printing

3D printing did start in the enterprise. But recently it expanded and found more success in the consumer space. Now, smart businesses realize that it won’t be long before the smaller, more economical 3D printers find their way back to the enterprise. This will foster a new generation of applications for big companies that can acquire and deploy the devices at scale.
3D printing has the biggest impact in the manufacturing industry since rapid prototyping is crucial in this space. It’s hard to overestimate the speed and flexibility that 3D printing adds to the equation.
So, there you go. 5 technologies that you should contemplate integrating into your company, and now you know why. Vision, creativity and hard work have always been qualities of a great company, and so they always will be. But now it’s increasingly dependent on the right technology to translate those qualities into performance, into better products and services, and hence into a better company.
